Grantown On Spey Golf Club has a legacy that spans over a century, rooted in a passion for the game of golf and a commitment to excellence. Established in 1890, our club began with a humble nine-hole course designed by A.C. Brown, a renowned golf professional of his time. It wasn’t until 1911 that the course expanded to 18 holes, with the expertise of Willie Park from Musselburgh shaping its layout.
In 1921, the legendary James Braid lent his expertise to our course, recommending improvements that have stood the test of time and continue to define our playing experience to this day. These enhancements, carefully integrated into the course, reflect our dedication to preserving tradition while embracing innovation.
Throughout our history, Grantown On Spey Golf Club has been proud to be associated with some of the most distinguished names in the world of golf. Bobby Cruickshank, one of our most celebrated alumni, left an indelible mark on the professional golf circuit, showcasing his talent on both sides of the Atlantic. His remarkable journey, from the fairways of Grantown On Spey to the hallowed grounds of the US Open, serves as a testament to the caliber of golfers nurtured within our club’s embrace.
